Seeking a Transportation Structural Engineer to be responsible for the management and design of transportation structures projects. Project Engineer position is responsible for maintaining budget and schedule while acting as a technical advisor to design engineers.
nnEssential Functions and Responsibilities:
nDesign of new and rehabilitation bridge projects
nAbility to meet project schedules and maintain quality standards
nMaintain project scopes and budgets
nPreparation of contract bid documents and managing construction phase services
nCoordination with sub consultants
nLeading design engineers and drafting personnel
nConverse with clients and establish relationships.
nnRequired Experience:
nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
nProfessional Engineer License
n10+ years’ experience in (bridge) horizontal structural exp
nProject management and business development experience
nProficient in Microsoft Office
nnRequired Skills:
nAbility to manage the structural design of engineering and construction projects of varying levels of complexity, and scope
nKnowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for structure components
nAbility to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
nExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
nnRequired Experience:
n10-15 years of relevant experience in structural design
nLicensed Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland
nExperience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design
nExperience working with Maryland Department of Transportation.
nnPreferred Experience
nMS in Civil Engineering
n3 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel.
nnWorking Conditions
nWork is performed within a general office environment most of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
nnMUST HAVE:
n10-15 years of relevant experience in structural design.
nLicensed Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland.
nExperience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design.
nExperience working with Maryland Department of Transportation.
nKnowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for structure components.
