Internship Program
The City of Virginia Beach's Internship Program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to apply and utilize acquired knowledge in their field of study. We are currently hiring interns for the following internship opportunities: If you do not see an opportunity below that aligns with your field of study, we encourage you to still apply as future opportunities may open up. Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student in an associate's, bachelor's, master's degree or PhD program and be in good academic standing as determined by the school, college, or university. Applications received will be considered for Fall and Winter internship opportunities that become available. We have a variety of departments that may offer internship opportunities in engineering, information technology, library, human resources, business, communications & media relations, as well as finance. Tasks may include working on projects, assisting with day-to-day operations, as well as attending meetings. Our interns often have the opportunity to go on site visits and meet with various stakeholders to learn how the City serves our citizens and tourists.
