Overview
The Director of Residential Services shall be responsible for overseeing both clinical and administrative aspects of the treatment program to ensure the delivery of quality and confidential care. He / She is accountable for staff performance, service coordination, and ensuring facility compliance with State, County, and local regulations.

Master's degree in human services, mental health, or social work fields, with at least five years of experience in addiction services, including one year in a supervisory role. Candidate must hold a license such as Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with CCS, Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with CCS, Licensed Psychologist, ASAM Physician, Board-Certified Psychiatrist, or Advanced Practitioner Nurse with CCS. Knowledge of compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations is required. Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license, a safe driving record, and be physically capable of operating vehicles. Computer literacy in email, internet, MS Word, Excel, and agency software is required. SPECIAL CLIENT-RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work effectively independently, multi-task, and problem-solve. Must be capable of coordinating work among staff, managing client behaviors, motivating adherence to treatment plans, and communicating effectively with clients across adult to geriatric age groups. Telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills are essential. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Adhere to the agency’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures. Comply with laws and regulations governing alcohol and drug abuse services. Provide leadership during staff meetings, case conferences, peer reviews, and performance evaluations. Maintain open communication and assist in developing work plans within a team setting. Ensure staff interactions with clients are professional and therapeutic. Ensure staff comply with the Code of Ethical Conduct. Provide weekly clinical supervision (minimum of 1 hour per week) to supervisees, documented thoroughly. Review treatment plans, assessments, and recommendations, signing where required. Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and organizational standards for clinical practice and supervision. Adhere to laws related to Duty to Warn, Child Abuse, Megan’s Law, Elder Abuse, etc. Collaborate on staff development and recognize clinician strengths. Enforce organizational policies and ensure confidentiality of records. Use evidence-based behavioral approaches aligned with treatment principles. Coordinate client orientation and ensure substance abuse counseling services are provided per treatment plans. Additional duties include staff education, crisis management, interdepartmental communication, project planning, quality assurance, representing the agency, staff supervision, facility management, documentation, safety compliance, cultural activities coordination, outside agency liaison, and performance evaluations. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
The employee may sit, talk, listen, move within the premises, operate a computer, and perform tasks requiring visual acuity. Lifting items up to 35 pounds may be necessary. Mental tasks include reading, writing, concentration, reasoning, analysis, problem-solving, multitasking, and mathematical calculations.
