At UPMC Presbyterian, we're looking for a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor to guide operations, mentor staff, and ensure the highest standards of safety, precision, and patient care.

Work overnight hours (Monday-Friday) with rotating weekend call every 4 weeks

What You'll Do:
Lead daily operations of the department, ensuring top-tier cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of skilled technicians, promoting a culture of accountability, growth, and compassion
Serve as a key resource for clinical teams, solving issues, answering questions, and ensuring service excellence
Partner with the manager to maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Drive performance improvement and help spread best practices across the department and hospital
Champion education and development by coordinating internal and external training opportunities
Lead initiatives that promote diversity, team wellness, and a positive work culture
Participate in staff evaluations, scheduling, and strategic planning for departmental success
Share knowledge through presentations, posters, and innovation efforts
What It Takes:
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage people and processes in a fast-paced, detail-focused environment
Commitment to patient safety, quality, and service
Passion for mentoring, motivating, and making a difference behind the scenes
High School Graduate or equivalent.
3 years experience in central sterile processing required.
2 years supervisory or team leader experience required.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, physicians, staff of other hospital departments, and outside contacts. Must complete 10 hours of continuing education to remain qualified as a Central Sterile Technician on an annual basis.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician OR International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management
