Job Description Job Title: Supervisor - Central Sterile Processing Profession: Supervisor Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 3+ Years of Sterile Processing Experience, 1+ Year of Supervisory Experience License: HSPA Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Strong communication skills, effective team building, and knowledge of Central Sterile operations
Description: The Supervisor in Central Sterile Processing oversees and directs the Central Sterile Processing department. This role ensures effective and efficient operation for cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment. The Supervisor is responsible for the management and direction of staff and material resources within the department. This position provides educational opportunities, retraining, and in-services for the Central Sterile staff. The Supervisor enforces policies, procedures, and standards of operation while collaborating with various departments. They are responsible for ensuring that the department meets accreditation, regulatory, and recommended standards. Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and emerging technology and practices is essential. The Supervisor manages the distribution and follow-up of FDA/Manufacturer recall notices. Additionally, they are accountable for the accuracy of patient charges processed through Central Sterile. Strong numerical skills and basic computer proficiency are required. The role also necessitates building effective relationships with all constituents, including medical staff and associates. A documented history of creating a culture of safety and leading positive change is important.
