This full-time position plays a crucial role in designing, planning, implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network infrastructure across our organization. It is an exciting time to join IT! As a Network Systems Analyst ,
you will : Responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining agency network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and other necessary networking components. Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including virtualization, cloud-hosted services, and on-premises hardware to ensure high availability, performance, and security. Manage and support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including user access, security policies, cloud-based infrastructure, and application integrations to ensure seamless functionality, compliance, and performance. Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot transit-specific technologies onboard vehicles, such as real-time tracking systems, onboard Wi-Fi, and vehicle communication systems. Develop and implement security measures to safeguard network and server infrastructure from unauthorized or accidental modification, destruction, or disclosure. Maintain anti-virus, anti-spam, and backup systems. Assist with ensuring all technology systems adhere to industry standards in system patching, iOS upgrades, and firmware updates. Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment and services, performing routine administrator functions, initiating requests for new telecom services, and leading special projects. Coordinate vendor, contractor, and staff efforts to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize system downtime. Provide technical guidance and training to users of varying expertise on hardware, software, and network security best practices. Perform other duties related to IT infrastructure, security, and systems management as required. looking for? Associates Degree. Four (4) years of progressively responsible network administration experience. Experience with operation and troubleshooting of medium/large scale networks and IT infrastructure environments is preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Washington Driver's License or the ability to respond in a timely manner to issues arising throughout the Intercity Transit service area on a 24-7 basis. One or more of the following is preferred:
CISCO CCNA Certification; Microsoft Certification; VMware Certification; Other industry recognized certifications.
Must submit to criminal background check the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role. Knowledge of: Networking protocols and infrastructure, including TCP/IP, VLAN, HSRP, LACP, SNMP, DHCP, and other key technologies. Transit-specific technologies, such as onboard vehicle networks, real-time tracking, automated fare collection, and wireless communications systems. Network performance optimization, reliability principles, and troubleshooting methodologies to ensure stable and efficient operations. Cisco IOS and firewall administration, including advanced configuration, deployment, and security best practices. Routing protocols and network architecture, with a focus on scalability, security, and efficiency. General IT systems and server administration, including virtualization, cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Azure), and system patching strategies. Telecommunications and telephony solutions, including VoIP systems, call routing, and unified communications platforms. Cybersecurity principles and access management, ensuring data integrity, protection, and compliance across enterprise systems. Skill in: Operating, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure to ensure stability, security, and performance. Administering Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and related enterprise solutions (certifications preferred). Diagnosing and resolving technical issues by defining problems, collecting data, analyzing information, and recommending effective solutions. Installing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware, software, and peripheral equipment to support operational needs. Administering and optimizing database servers, ensuring data integrity and system efficiency. Utilizing computers and industry-standard software applications for network management, system monitoring, and reporting. Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues with a strategic and customer-focused approach. Providing exceptional customer service, supporting technical needs across multiple teams and stakeholders. Strong written and oral communication skills, including preparing reports and documentation. Demonstrating effective interpersonal skills in collaborating with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and the public to facilitate clear communication and teamwork. Whats in it for you? in addition to annual general wage/cost of living adjustments typically received in January and step increases in July (if not at top of salary range). Currently this position is working hybrid remote with an occasional need for additional onsite work; an ability to work from home (i.e., reliable Wi-Fi, confidential space) is essential.
