Scope of contribution
As a member of the IT Operations team, this position is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's operating systems (Windows and Linux) both on-premise as well as in AWS and Azure cloud as well as all related systems or software. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software ensuring scalability and appropriate integration with other systems. Detects, diagnoses and reports problems on server systems and proactively plans maintenance to ensure systems optimal performance by making recommendations for system upgrades and replacements as it relates to system life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain system documentation in the form of build documents, system diagrams, and procedural documents Own problems and see them through completion, and keep system users and management informed Adhere to rigorous configuration/change management processes as it relates to production systems Work as part of a close-knit IT Operations team supporting continual personal/professional development, and maintaining a high-level of communication and collaboration Actively engage in building a high trust, high-performance team culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously, routinely multitasking, and reassigning priorities. Independently analyze and solve complex technical problems. Ability to work collaboratively across teams to solve problems and share knowledge Committed to personal learning and development. Proficient communicator, including writing, speaking, editing, proofreading. Ability to effectively listen and communicate with team members, partners, and clientele, including excellent written and oral communication skills that allows for the building of positive and collaborative relationships. Performs routine and complex system maintenance tasks, including hardware and software upgrades, system recovery, and performance tuning. Monitors system performance; and troubleshoots hardware and software errors. Assist in managing AWS and Azure cloud services, including system administration and working with the infrastructure team on networking, storage, and compute resources. Utilize monitoring and endpoint management systems to proactively maintain company systems and processes.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
5+ years of on-site and remote server, desktop, technical support, and system administration experience in both on-premise and cloud environments. Strong experience with configuring, maintaining, and testing systems Strong experience with Powershell, Python, Bash, and other scripting languages. Strong experience with maintaining systems in support of 24/7 system availability Strong experience with Azure and AWS Administration including hybrid environments. In-depth understanding of VMware, Azure, and AWS services and offerings, with hands-on experience in VMWare VCenter, AWS Management Console, Azure Resource Manager, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Identity, and Azure Governance. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Strong experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in a cloud environment. Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, or other related cloud infrastructure tools. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks A high degree of computer literacy, fluent with Microsoft Office applications. Proven ability to effectively manage priorities and timelines and achieve commitments. Knowledge of Logicmonitor, Tanium, Zerto, Jira a plus.
Education
A minimum of BS in Computer Science or similar degree, or the equivalent in technical certifications and 5+ years of demonstrated results or equivalent experience.
Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS DevOps Engineer Other certifications a bonus
