Overview
Research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products such as ammunition handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and other devices. Perform technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and computer programs. Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documents, models, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements. Develop and revise technical documentation; contribute to technical papers or presentations. Deliver technical presentations related to production support activities if required. Create and maintain product parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 9.0 modeling software. Perform complex engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, testing, and product assurance tasks of limited complexity for assigned project portions. Solve moderately complex engineering problems that are not clearly defined and lack similar precedents. Ensure tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements. Apply engineering design and analytical principles to complex project parts. Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers. Stay updated on relevant engineering disciplines, industry practices, trends, and applications. Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety policies. Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting as needed. Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a Master's degree with 2 years' experience. Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience. Proficient in creating complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems, preferably PTC Pro-E or CREO. Ability to solve moderately complex technical design problems requiring professional engineering knowledge. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience collaborating with manufacturing shops for design realization. Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with military and commercial design standards. Knowledge of current engineering computer applications and technologies. Experience in military product production environments. Experience developing precision assembly tooling. Good understanding of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5 2009 or 2018). Experience with Tolerance Stack Analysis, Creo modeling, and drawing generation (2+ years). Familiarity with EPDM systems, preferably Windchill.
