The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is accepting applications for a part-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer appointment to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for the Spring semester. Duties include but are not limited to: curriculum/syllabus design, content and materials development, and teaching. The selected candidate(s) will be expected to complete activities and provide support for developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students, depending on the chosen candidate's degree certification. All courses are taught in person on the University's main campus in Columbus, Ohio. Final candidates may be considered for renewal based upon the needs of the department. The Ohio State University will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Performance Objectives: Presenting course material and guiding students through assignments Creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment Demonstrated commitment to student success Collaboration with fellow instructors Education and Experience Requirements: Required: Advanced degree in computing or related field, or equivalent experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State's Shared Values. Desired: PhD degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related area, OR a MS degree and 5 years of teaching experience with documentation of high-quality teaching, OR extensive experience (20+ years) in the computing field. Experience related to teaching computing foundations, ethics in computing, programming languages, computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, data mining, or business computing.
