Description
This position will lead and oversee both men's and women's Track & Field programs. This role includes student-athlete development, recruiting, budget management, compliance with NAIA rules, and fostering a positive academic-athletic environment that aligns with New College's mission Examples of Duties
Design and implement training programs for both men's and women's track and field events (sprints, distance, jumps, throw, hurdles) - Recruit and retain talented, academically motivated student-athletes - Provide individual coaching, conduct video analysis, and track athlete progress - Plan and manage all aspects of team competitions (scheduling meets, travel planning, logistics, etc) - Oversee coaching staff and mentor graduate and volunteer assistants - Uphold academic excellence-monitor progress toward degree milestones and maintain NAIA eligibility - Administer team budgets, equipment purchasing, facility maintenance, and fundraising efforts - Ensure compliance with all athletic conference and governing body regulations - Represent New College of Florida at coaching, alumni, and community events - Full-time coaching schedule, often requiring evening and weekend work
Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- Head coaching or assistant-coaching experience at the collegiate level or Academy level setting - Demonstrated success in athlete improvement, recruitment, and team leadership - Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills - Familiarity with NAIA rules and academic eligibility requirements Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in relevant discipline Collegiate coaching experience at Division I, II, III or NAIA levels Track record of producing All-Conference or All-American student-athletes Skilled in strength and conditioning program development Experience with grant writing and fundraising
