Business Analyst – IT Power Trading We are recruiting on behalf of a global energy company rapidly expanding its trading presence in North America. As the firm accelerates its power transition—adding assets like wind, solar, battery storage, and CCGTs—its trading volumes and need for automation are growing fast. This role supports the Front Office Tools & Trade Monitoring team, acting as a bridge between trading, support teams, and IT. About the Role You’ll work closely with traders and support teams to troubleshoot systems, improve tools, and translate business needs into technical requirements. Ideal candidates bring experience in power trading environments, knowledge of front-to-back trade flows, and an interest in solving business challenges through technology. Key Responsibilities Act as primary liaison between trading teams and IT Gather and define business and functional requirements Partner with developers to design and test solutions Support the integration of power assets (e.g., CCGTs) into ETRM systems Manage a backlog of requests, changes, and testing needs Deliver day-to-day end-user support and incident resolution Contribute to product roadmaps and change initiatives Top Skillsets Power trading knowledge (physical and derivatives) Experience with ETRM systems and trade lifecycle support Familiarity with market risk, pricing, and P&L metrics in energy Preferred Background 2–5 years in a commodity trading or utility environment/company Degree in IT, Engineering, or related technical field Experience supporting front-office users and systems Knowledge of DevOps, Agile, and/or project management principles Understanding of power asset modeling and onboarding is a major plus Other Details Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship) English fluency required; French is a plus Onsite in Houston, with exposure to front office trading operations Seniority level
