Position Summary MUST LIVE IN APPROVED STATES: AL, AZ, CO, GA, FL, ID, IL, MA, MI, NV, NM, NC, PA, SC, TX, VA, and WA. Position Summary: This posting covers all Physician coding roles, including Physician Coder I, II, and Senior Coder. Candidates will be considered for the appropriate role based on organizational needs, experience, assessment results, and qualifications. The role involves accessing physician billing and Health Information Systems to accurately code and bill services. Must reside in one of the approved states listed above. Orlando Health is your best place to work. Responsibilities Essential Functions for Coder I and II: Review medical records and code physician services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS classifications. Verify billable services by reviewing documentation for adherence to federal rules. Report issues to Senior Coder for evaluation. Collaborate with the team to monitor financial goals. Assist in follow-up of patient accounts to maximize reimbursement. Communicate effectively with physicians and team members. Maintain 90% accuracy in coding. Attend meetings and maintain punctuality and compliance. Other Related Functions: Participate in departmental goals and maintain productivity standards. Engage in professional development and maintain certification. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions for Sr. Coder: All functions of Coders I and II, plus: Provide data for reports and serve as a mentor and management support. Maintain 90% accuracy and confidentiality. Attend meetings and support team goals. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Proficiency in CPT and ICD coding, evidenced by at least 80% on skills test. Certifications: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, or CMC from recognized bodies. Experience Requirements: Coder I: Minimum 1 year in professional/physician coding, with preferred multi-specialty E/M coding skills. Coder II: 3 years in professional/physician coding, with proficiency in E/M and bedside procedures. Senior Coder: 5 years in professional/physician coding, with proficiency in multi-specialty E/M, bedside procedures, and surgical coding. #J-18808-Ljbffr
