Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute: Level 1 RN: Med/Surg Duration: 26-week contract for holidays preferred Shift: 3x12 Night Shifts, 7pm-7am EOW, Holidays + 2 On-Call Shifts per Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience floating to Med/Surg, ICU, ER License: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse Certifications: Minimum BLS, ACLS, PALS required
Must-Have: - Must be cross-trained for multiple units (Med/Surg, ICU, ER) - Must have BSN and critical care experience - Must be comfortable floating to ICU/ER/MS/MST
Description: RNs are required to work rotating shifts of day and night. Shift hours are from 7pm to 7am every other week, including holiday rotations. Four on-call shifts are expected per four-week period. The RN must possess the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Professional and courteous interactions with people are essential. The role requires meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities effectively. Teamwork is a critical component, and effective role modeling is necessary. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills are required. Computer literacy is necessary for completing job functions. Customer focus is important and involves demonstrating professionalism and effective communication. The staff member must be knowledgeable and skilled to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. Age-specific care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient groups must be provided. The individual must demonstrate an understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan. Assessment data reflective of each patient's status must be interpreted accurately to meet their care needs.
