Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall management and coordination of all aspects of the Sleep Lab and Neurodiagnostics for the Guthrie System. The Manager collaborates with Medical Directors to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation guidelines.
Education & License:
NY Respiratory Therapist license and RRT credential through the NBRC are required. Sleep disorder specialist (SDS) preferred. Alternatively, NY Polysomnographic Technologist license with RPSGT credential or Sleep Disorder Specialist credential through the NBRC is acceptable. For Pennsylvania, RCP license and RRT credential are required, with SDS preferred. A BS or BA is required, MS or MA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in Respiratory or Sleep Medicine.
Essential Functions:
Develop marketing and strategic growth plans for the Sleep Lab.
Build and maintain relationships with host institutions and contacts, providing leadership and business planning for growth and new services. Stay current with sleep disorder literature and techniques. Engage with physicians for updates and referral development.
Maintain competency as a Polysomnography Technologist, including scoring studies per R&K standards and AASM recommendations. Coordinate equipment utilization, provide coverage when needed, and ensure equipment cleanliness and functionality.
Manage and oversee Sleep Lab and Neurodiagnostics operations, ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate work. Lead staff development, evaluate staffing needs, and promote educational growth. Organize staff meetings and training programs.
Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, financial review, equipment and supply management, scheduling, policy compliance, billing, and accreditation efforts.
