Travel Sterile Processing Technician – Night Shift

About the Role:
nHumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week travel assignment in a state-of-the-art instrument processing facility located in a large academic hospital in Rochester, NY . The Sterile Processing Department supports 35 OR suites , AFC units, and clinics. Instruments, trays, and pans are tracked using Getinge’s T-DOC barcoding system .

Responsibilities:

• n

  Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays

  n n
• n

  Operate advanced sterilization equipment (steam sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, aerators)

  n n
• n

  Verify cleanliness, proper assembly, and function of surgical tools

  n n
• n

  Monitor sterilization parameters (time, temp, pressure), conduct biological testing, and maintain accurate documentation

  n n
• n

  Decontaminate equipment following infection control protocols

  n n
• n

  Perform equipment checks, simple maintenance, and refer malfunctioning items for repair

  n n
• n

  Receive and stock surgical supplies, monitor inventory, and document usage

  n n
• n

  Ensure QA compliance including sterility checks and supply validation

  n n

Must-Have Qualifications:

n
• n

  Active Sterile Processing Tech Certification (HSPA or CBSPD)

  n n
• n

  BLS (AHA only)

  n n
• n

  Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing Tech experience

  n n
• n

  Experience in large hospitals (500+ beds)

  n n
• n

  Minimum 6 months of recent travel assignment experience

  n n

Preferred:

n
• n

  Level 1 Trauma Center experience

  n n
• n

  Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) credential

  n n
• n

  Orthopedic tray handling experience

  n n

Equipment Used:
nSterilizers, ultrasonic washers, aerators, steris units, hand/power tools, cart washers, calibration/repair tools, and more.
