Required Experience and Skills:
Maternal Fetal Medicine experience.
Familiarity with:
Fetal echocardiography MCA (Middle Cerebral Artery) dopplers Valve dopplers Fetal anatomy Ability to independently perform:
Fetal echocardiograms Doppler assessments Preferred but Not Required:
Ability to independently perform amniocentesis and Client
Required:
Must be American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered in OB and OB GYN Fetal Echocardiography (FE) registration preferred
Dealbreakers:
No experience in OB/GYN and no familiarity with fetal echocardiography No experience with MCA dopplers or valve dopplers Lack of comfort with fetal anatomy and related procedures
Duties: Job Summary:
Assists the radiologist in performing invasive diagnostic techniques specialized to maternal fetal ultrasound processes. Provides standardization and training to residents regarding these exams. Consults with patients and evaluates any contraindications, such as medications, insufficient patient preparation, or inability/unwillingness to tolerate the procedure. Performs the ultrasound procedure under general or direct supervision as defined by the procedure and/or physician. Performs essential maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations such as: detailed anatomical evaluation, complete fetal echocardiogram, growth assessment, fetal wellbeing (biophysical profiles, maternal/fetal Doppler, amniotic fluid assessments), needle procedure guidance, examinations of maternal pelvic anatomy (including transvaginal cervical assessment), and advanced diagnostic 3D/The Client techniques. Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for physician interpretation. Assists the supervising physician with invasive procedures as required. Analyzes sonography findings during examination to complete a comprehensive exam and provide sufficient data to the physician. Recognizes situations or abnormalities requiring direct real-time scan observation by the radiologist. Images structures while simultaneously obtaining Doppler signals, recording images, Doppler shift recordings, and patient information for interpretation by a radiologist. Advises radiologist and/or referring OB provider of examination results and provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation of maternal-fetal scans.
Required Skills & Experience:
Three (3) years of experience performing complex OB/GYN or vascular scans Preferred Skills & Experience:

Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography / General Ultrasound or equivalent certificate program is required Preferred Education:
