We're looking for a Staff Attorney with insurance defense litigation experience to join a top DC law firm in defending the firm's self-insured client with diverse business lines. This is a direct hire hybird position that does not have a billable hour requirement. In this role, you'll manage a high volume of claims litigation under the guidance of firm partners. You’ll be the lead on all aspects of the case lifecycle—from pleadings to trial—working closely with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with client objectives
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and settlement agreements
• Handle depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Manage expert witnesses and collaborate with internal teams
• Maintain clear communication with the client and opposing counsel
• Track case progress and reporting responsibilities
• Prepare cases for trial and serve as trial counsel when needed

What We’re Looking For:

• J.D. and active member in good standing of the DC Bar
• 3+ years of litigation experience; insurance defense required
• Strong writing, research, and verbal advocacy skills
• Highly organized and comfortable managing a high-volume caseload
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Willingness to travel within the U.S.

NOTE:

• The salary will be determined based on the candidate’s industry knowledge and experience.
• All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.
