As a Senior UI Architect, you will be responsible for defining and driving the user interface architecture strategy across digital products and platforms. You will collaborate closely with product teams, UX designers, frontend engineers, and backend developers to deliver scalable, performant, and visually compelling user interfaces. Your role will shape the way users interact with our applications, ensuring intuitive, accessible, and responsive user experiences that meet business goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: Design and define UI architecture and frontend strategies aligned with business objectives and user experience goals. Develop reusable component libraries, design systems, and frontend development standards. Select and advocate for modern frontend frameworks and tools (e.g., React, Angular, Vue). Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to frontend engineering teams. Collaborate with UX/UI designers to bridge design intent with implementation excellence. Review frontend codebases and conduct UI performance audits and refactoring initiatives. Champion accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility best practices. Integrate frontend systems seamlessly with backend APIs and microservices. Maintain architectural documentation, including component structures, state management flows, and integration guidelines. Conduct design and code reviews to ensure adherence to UI architecture principles. Lead efforts in optimizing performance across frontend layers using tools like Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and Chrome DevTools. Evaluate and implement client-side caching, lazy loading, and modular bundling strategies. Promote security best practices in the frontend domain, including input validation, CSP, and secure authentication flows. Present UI architecture roadmaps and technology recommendations to leadership and stakeholders. Work closely with 3rd party vendors, ensuring frontend solutions meet enterprise standards and quality. Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to align UI strategy with business and user requirements. Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or related field. Proven experience as a UI Architect, Lead Frontend Engineer, or similar role focused on complex web application interfaces. Deep understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular), HTML5, CSS3, and UI state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand). Familiarity with design systems and tools such as Storybook, Figma, and CSS preprocessors (e.g., SASS, LESS). Experience with responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and progressive enhancement. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for frontend delivery, and experience with frontend testing (Jest, Cypress, etc.). Knowledge of frontend performance optimization techniques and tools. Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with cloud-based frontend hosting (e.g., Netlify, Vercel) and integration with cloud backends (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Certification in frontend technologies or UI/UX design is a plus. Knowledge of the intermodal or logistics industry is a plus. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
