ROLE SUMMARY
The VP, US Specialty Patient Solutions is a core, multifaceted, strategic leadership role for the diverse Specialty Care portfolio. The colleague in this role leads all advocacy, patient support, field reimbursement strategy activities for the existing and future SC portfolio.
Additionally, in partnership with Corporate Affairs, PCA and brand teams, owns the budget allocated for all the patient support activities, both directly manage by the BU and the enabling functions.
This leader will have responsibility for a ~175 person group and teams that span field-based access and reimbursement services, patient engagement and community activation across I&I, rare disease and some work in HBU.
This role will continue to develop the Patient Solutions platform, and in partnership with SAS and Digital to build a best in class platform, with advanced data and analytics to ensure a frictionless experience for patients and HCPs.
The VP, is responsible for the development and execution of the strategies and tactics needed to support the patient reimbursement and affordability (commercial and government) to any purchasing entity, in an appropriate manner and to the highest ethical, legal and regulatory standards .He/she will seek to bring best practices to the platform and field roles to ensure the highest level of compliant patient and HCP support on the often complex and confusing patient journey.
This role will continue to evolve the patient engagement model for Specialty Care to ensure that we further support patients and effectively partner with community and advocacy groups.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Continue to evolve the SC PS platform – ensuring a frictionless patient and customer experience across all parts of the individual TA journeys
Lead A&R and Patient engagement teams to build an impactful strategy and deployment across the end to end patient facing and customer facing teams.
Strategic planning, implementation, and coordination of advocacy, alliance development and communications efforts that effectively address Pfizer Specialty Care priorities.
Partner with Payer and Channel Access to analyze the SC market to understand coverage and reimbursement issues impacting brands, existing and emerging payer policies, formulary listings, competitive landscape, trends, pricing, contracting strategies, and potential barriers to provider and patient access. Monitor the evolution of payer policies at a macro level in the US that could impact the portfolio, monitor payer reimbursement decisions and FDA policies for recently approved products
Build and assessment compliant measurement for all activity to ensure impact
The VP will contribute to business objectives as a member of the SCLT
Work closely with Government Affairs team in order to understand the legislative/policy (current and future) impact on current and future products
Work closely with account and customer facing organizations to ensure professional organization engagement is consistent with broader customer strategy
Be the external senior face of SC to patient orgs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required
15 years of experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical industry including 10 years of specific experience and demonstrated success with specialty markets, managed markets, specialty pharmacy, and or/channel management
Experience in US payer and access experience
Experience interacting with Specialty ecosystem stakeholders
Change agility and willingness and ability to challenge the status quo
Strong business acumen
Highly developed knowledge of healthcare industry, provider network, and health plan operations
Experience establishing strategic vision, setting expectations and marshaling resources to deliver results
Excellent communication, organizational and project management skills
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple complex projects in various markets simultaneously
Understanding and appreciation of legal and regulatory environment
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company and a fast-evolving market
Proven leadership and management skills
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated success in influence/negotiation skills; ability to build and maintain productive collaborative relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Track record of ability to effectively influence and interface internally at most senior levels in a large corporation and externally with large complex customers
Strong communication skills; ability to mobilize key stakeholders and engage both colleagues and senior leadership
Ability to navigate internal organization/processes and mobilize key internal stakeholders
Track record of leading an organization to meet or exceed performance targets
Previous supervisory/people management experience preferred and ability to develop and motivate others, lead through change and deliver on Pfizer business objectives necessary
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $256,100.00 to $426,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
