About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Development (VPD) to join their team. The VPD will be responsible for leading the organization's fundraising efforts, with a focus on securing the financial resources necessary to support its mission of promoting economic opportunity and championing an equitable city and state. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strategic approach to fundraising, including the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, and to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans. The successful candidate will work closely with the executive team to ensure that the organization's financial needs are met and that its programs and advocacy work can continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of the communities it serves.
Candidates for the Vice President of Development position at the company should have a proven track record in fundraising, preferably within a nonprofit or mission-driven environment. The role demands a leader who is not only experienced in traditional fundraising methods but is also adept at leveraging data-driven research and people-driven advocacy to engage supporters. A deep understanding of the social issues the organization addresses, such as access to healthcare, housing, and employment, is essential. The VPD will be expected to have excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, and a passion for the mission of the organization. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's degree is preferred, in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, public policy, or social work.
