Position Overview The Town of Woodstock has recently reorganized its community development department to align with its strategic plan and better address residential growth, economic development, and downtown community development needs. The Director of Community Development position offers an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking leader to influence the department's goals and impact the community.
Key Responsibilities
Foster a collaborative work environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Manage complex development review processes.
Communicate complex ideas effectively in both oral and written formats.
Utilize geographic information systems and oversee grant application and monitoring processes.
Apply knowledge of urban planning, zoning, economic development strategies, and land use design.
Engage with the community to promote development initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile Our ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in making the Town a better place to live, work, stay, shop, and play. They should possess a comprehensive knowledge of urban planning, zoning, economic development, and community engagement principles, and be able to manage multiple projects effectively.
