Overview
The Marketing & Communications Manager develops and implements marketing strategies to raise awareness of and promote the organization's mission, attracting donors and volunteers. Responsible for implementing and tracking promotional, public engagement, and cultivation strategies to increase earned and paid media exposure, social media interactions, and revenues supporting the work of the organization. Paramount to this position is the ability to work with a high degree of independence and manage various projects at once while maintaining a clear view of how each project supports the entire organization's Vision, Mission, and Valued Actions. Reports to the Executive Director of Philanthropy. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Designs, documents, budgets, and implements a strategic, systematic, and integrated marketing and communications program focusing attention on CCS's brand identity Regularly updates website content with current and relevant information Analyzes data from website traffic and use reports and, using customer relationship management (CRM) queries and audience analyses, creates strategies to better engage target audience of clients, supporters, and prospective donors Photographs clients, events, staff, and volunteers as appropriate; maintains a library of photos for the organization Assists the Executive Director of Philanthropy to develop and implement a strategic, comprehensive content calendar that guides the production of donor communications, including email and printed newsletters, email updates, development materials, and annual reports Produces and coordinates social media outreach and communications with varied audiences to increase the visibility of the organization on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other channels Initiates and coordinates outreach to and strategic relationships with print, radio, and television reporters, editors, and managers to increase reach of earned media Ensures brand integrity and builds brand awareness across all communication channels Assists Executive Director of Philanthropy with special public relation and fundraising events and activities for programs within the organization Attends internal and external meetings and organization sponsored or attended community events, as required May drive personal or agency vehicle on company business
Minimum Requirements
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Administration, Public Administration, or a related field 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing and/or nonprofit donor relations Proven skills utilizing the following programs/applications/systems: Microsoft Office Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator Email marketing platforms Professional audio/visual/recording equipment Strong communication skills - oral and written communications are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar, and tone that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, volunteers, internal staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners, and all constituencies Possesses ability to work independently and as part of a team and problem solving skills; is detail oriented, well organized, focused, and goal-oriented
REGULATORY
Must be at least 18 years of age Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid) Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Work is completed primarily indoors, but may occasionally be performed outdoors year-round and contain exposure to high heat, wind, rain, etc.
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or other related field Prior experience in database management, i.e. Raiser's Edge or eTapestry Additional years of directly related experience
