Position Information Department Department Cinema and Media Studies Job Title Job Title Adjunct for Introduction to Communication Studies Job Type Is Tenure Track No Job Summary The Communication Studies Program at Gettysburg College invites applications for an adjunct position to teach an introductory course in Communication Studies in both the fall of 2025 and spring of 2026.
Job responsibility includes 1) teaching two sections of COMM 1100 (Introduction to Communication Studies), one in fall of 2025 and one in spring of 2026; and 2) holding regular office hour (at least one hour per week). Gettysburg College is a highly selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an enrollment of over 2,600 students. Qualifications Either professional experience in communications in any field and/or a Ph.D. in Communication Studies preferred. A successful candidate should be able to design a course that covers the origin of the study of communication, and can follow the evolution of communicative technology and, as it becomes relevant, the parallel evolution of communication theory.
