Through our two fully equipped mobile vision clinics, KVFL provides free vision screenings, comprehensive eye exams, and prescription eyeglasses to students who otherwise may not have access to care. Partnering with over 175 schools across the St. Louis region, we bring essential vision services directly to where students learn and grow. Whether through school visits, community events, or special outreach initiatives, KVFL is breaking down barriers and ensuring that vision problems never stand in the way of a child’s potential. Role Description This is a part-time, on-site role for an Optometrist located in St. Louis City & County, MO. The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye exams and vision screenings for students. Additional duties include diagnosing eye conditions, recommending treatment plans, and prescribing corrective lenses. The role involves working closely with school staff and coordinating with other KVFL STL team members to ensure the best care for students. Qualifications D.O. or O.D. degree with a valid license to practice optometry in the state of Missouri Experience in conducting comprehensive eye exams and vision screenings Ability to diagnose eye conditions and recommend appropriate treatments Proficiency in prescribing corrective lenses Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, parents, and school staff Empathetic approach to patient care, particularly for economically disadvantaged and young students Flexibility to work part-time and on-site within St. Louis City & County, MO Experience with mobile clinic operations and working in diverse community settings is a plus Seniority level
