Role Scope
The Lead Engineer is part of the Platform Services team within Salesforce’s Digital Marketing Technology group, responsible for innovating our global digital experiences using best-in-class technology and systems.
This role involves defining and overseeing architecture, design, implementation, and testing strategies, ensuring technical excellence, scalability, and high-quality product delivery. You will collaborate with top engineers to build features that customers love while maintaining platform stability and scalability.
Key Qualifications
- Deep experience in marketing technologies, especially in experimentation or B2C Identity domains, with a record of delivering solutions in complex ecosystems.
- Experience with Consumer/B2C identity packages (e.g., Okta/Auth0), identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect).
- Experience in building AI-based architectures and scalable stacks.

- Define technical vision and develop capabilities in marketing technology.
- Lead solution guidance and influence technical decisions across teams.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to shape product roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Design complex, high-impact solutions that are robust, scalable, and secure, leveraging Salesforce products.
- Innovate in Agile and DevOps practices, focusing on process improvement, scalability, and maturity.
- Evaluate and adopt cutting-edge tools and technologies to enhance engineering efficiency and future-proof systems.
- Mentor and elevate the technical skills of the engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous innovation.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software development, building large-scale, high-performance services.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with microservices architecture, domain-driven design, RESTful APIs.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, building scalable microservices.
- Proficiency with NoSQL databases, web services, and data streaming technologies.
- Back-end development experience, preferably with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience designing large-scale data pipelines, data modeling, ETL processes, and scripting with Python.
