Med/Surg RN Job Details - Newburgh, IN Location: Newburgh, Indiana 47630 (Indiana nursing jobs) Unit: Observation Unit (32 beds) Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract Contract Length: 13 or 20 weeks Start Dates: 8/25/2025 or 9/8/2025 (bi-weekly orientation) Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed (option for 48 hours upon request) Weekend/Holiday: Three weekends per six-week schedule; every other holiday Float Requirement: May float to nearby campuses within skillset (advance notice provided) Scrub Colors: Navy blue (no competing health system or agency logos) Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1780-$1910 Med/Surg RN Qualifications Active compact Registered Nurse (RN) license Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (must be attached upon submittal) Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment Trauma Level II hospital experience Recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class required) Strong assessment and critical thinking skills Proficiency in PIV insertion and management of stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix) Hard-working, resilient, and adaptable to change Excellent teamwork and communication skills Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care to diverse populations, including chest pain, abdominal pain, CVA/TIA, and geriatric/psych placement cases Conduct thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans Insert and manage peripheral IVs; administer and monitor stable drips as required Accurately document care using EPIC electronic health records Float to other units or campuses within your clinical skillset as needed Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes Precept students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards Ready to make a difference as a Travel Med/Surg RN in Indiana?
