About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for its Community Plan in Louisiana. The CMO will be responsible for driving clinical excellence in accordance with state regulatory requirements and community health priorities. This role involves close partnership with local health plan leaders and enterprise clinical operations to oversee quality improvement, inpatient and outpatient utilization, affordability, growth, regulatory compliance, and health system transformation. The CMO will also work with the provider network team to develop strong partnerships with local healthcare systems and providers. Key responsibilities include maintaining a focus on quality and affordability, leading clinical programs for individuals with complex social, medical, and behavioral health needs, and being the outward face to state regulators. The ideal candidate will be a Louisiana-licensed physician, Board Certified, with a minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience, and a strong background in quality management, health equity work, and the managed care industry. Applicants for the CMO position at the company's Community Plan in Louisiana must have a solid understanding of the LTSS population, current medical issues and practices, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The role requires proven leadership, interpersonal communication, presentation, project management, data analysis, and strategic thinking skills. The CMO will be expected to lead initiatives to close gaps in health outcomes and drive innovation in the health system. A background in working with the Louisiana Department of Health and Welfare, bilingual in English and Spanish, and experience in leadership positions in Louisiana medical associations are preferred. The successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver, a strong team player, and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with network and community physicians and other providers.
