Financial Systems Director (Chicago)

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Systems Director with deep expertise in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) , particularly with Oracle EPM Cloud solutions. This role will lead the financial systems function and serve as a key partner to FP&A, Accounting, and IT teams, driving the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-wide planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the enterprise financial systems strategy, including Oracle EPM (Planning, FCCS, ARCS, etc.)
• Lead the implementation, and ongoing support of EPM solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and finance transformation initiatives.
• Act as a bridge between finance and IT, translating business requirements into scalable, technology-driven solutions.
• Oversee system architecture, integrations, upgrades, and performance tuning across EPM platforms.
• Manage a team of financial systems analysts and/or consultants, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and oversight.
• Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and other stakeholders to improve forecasting, budgeting, and financial close processes.
• Ensure strong governance, change management, and data integrity practices are in place across financial systems.
• Identify automation and efficiency opportunities within financial processes and lead related initiatives.
• Develop and deliver training, documentation, and support for EPM tools and best practices.
• Stay current with EPM trends and releases, recommending enhancements and innovations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in financial systems leadership
• Proven track record of leading end-to-end EPM implementations and upgrades.
• Hands-on Oracle EPM experience
• Strong understanding of financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, and reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP integrations (Oracle, SAP, Workday, etc.) and data flow between systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.
