Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatrist to join our dedicated mental health team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to children and adolescents. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with various mental health conditions, focusing on delivering high-quality care to individuals aged 6-14 years.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with specialization in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Florida.
- Valid DEA License, Medicaid Provider ID, and NPI.
- Minimum of 3 years experience diagnosing and treating serious emotional disturbances in children and adolescents.
- Experience in providing psychiatric care in residential and inpatient settings.
- Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques and mental health counseling.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of PTSD care methodologies is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Commitment to compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Provide medication management in inpatient residential settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care, including PTSD cases.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and compliant patient records.
- Engage in ongoing education to stay current with psychiatric practices.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Care & Patient Services
- Psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Medication consultations, prescriptions, and follow-up.
- Manage side effects of psychotropic medications.
- Order and review lab tests as needed.
- Document progress and medication rationale.
- Referral to external providers or emergency services when necessary.
- Participate in treatment team meetings.
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication use and side effects.
- Provide verbal medication orders to nursing staff as needed.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review and sign treatment plans and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Medicaid and healthcare regulations.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide on-call support as scheduled.
- Support clinical practices and promote team collaboration.
