The Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking an experienced echocardiography specialist to join our Cardiovascular Disease department, serving as Medical Director of Echocardiography and Core Faculty in an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology program.
CAMC is a 958-bed academic medical center, the leading healthcare provider in central/southern West Virginia, with four hospitals and over 700 physicians. Located in Charleston, it hosts one of the highest volume heart programs nationally, offering multidisciplinary care with advanced cardiac imaging in CT, MRI, and ECHO. The Heart and Vascular Center features state-of-the-art imaging and ICU facilities, supported by multiple labs.
As part of the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine, CAMC sponsors 14 residency and fellowship programs, hosts two regional medical school campuses, and trains over 1500 allied health professionals annually. A new Center for Learning and Research, including a 14,000 sq ft simulation center, is under construction.
Candidates must meet the criteria for Medical Director as per the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, including relevant training, experience, and practice requirements.
Additional Requirements:
- MD/DO from an LCME or AOA-accredited medical school
- Board certified in cardiology and echocardiography
- Minimum of two years clinical experience
- Ability to obtain West Virginia medical license and DEA
- Unrestricted hospital privileges at CAMC
- Interest in teaching/academic medicine
Preferred qualifications include leadership in a cardiology imaging lab, structural/interventional cardiology, cardiac MRI, consultative services, development of a cardio-oncology service, and teaching experience.
