Faculty Physician-Gastroenterology (Assistant or Associate Professor-Academic or Master Clinician Track)
The University of Minnesota, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is expanding its Luminal GI section due to significant growth throughout the M Health Fairview system located in Minneapolis, MN, and its surrounding suburbs. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to become an integral team member within an academic division that is dedicated to groundbreaking and patient-centered care. The position is clinically focused with opportunities to teach, conduct research, develop clinical programs, and participate in other academic activities.
Position Highlights:
- Join a growing division with physicians, advanced practice providers, and dietitians. We are leaders in pancreaticobiliary disease, transplant hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal disorders, and the microbiota.
- Work with a dynamic and collegial team of Gastroenterologists many of whom are named as a Top Doctor by Minnesota Monthly.
- Enjoy a variety and mix of inpatient, outpatient/virtual, and procedural work.
- High demand for complex GI patients, providing an interesting practice with diversity and a large internal referral base.
- Practice within a team-based healthcare model that includes advanced practice providers and allied health professionals in GI Health Psychology and Nutrition.
- Opportunities to develop specialized programs, leadership roles, and autonomy.
- Shared call responsibilities of 1:10 within the division.
- State-of-the-art facilities with new clinics and endoscopy suites.
- Ample opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and GI fellows.
- Access to educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with top specialists.
The Luminal GI Section hosts expanding clinical and research programs in IBD, esophageal disorders, complex polypectomy, AI in endoscopy, and functional GI diseases. The transplant hepatology section manages one of the longest-standing liver transplant programs in the US. The division also features a nationally-recognized Advanced Endoscopy Section specializing in ERCP, EUS, and complex pancreas/biliary disorders. The division aims for excellence in patient care, teaching, and research.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship.
- Board eligibility or certification with ABIM in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
- Ability to obtain medical license and DEA in Minnesota, and meet credentialing requirements.
- Legal work authorization in the US, with compliance to VISA requirements.
