The University of Minnesotas Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a passionate, dynamic academic physiatrist specializing in cancer rehabilitation to join our growing Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). We are seeking a dedicated physiatrist who shares our commitment to providing outstanding patient care, advancing education, and contributing to scholarly activity in the field of physiatry. As an Academic Physiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our Cancer Rehabilitation program. Working closely with the PM&R Medical Director and leadership team, your contributions will strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations and enhance patient care. Additionally, you will contribute to the training and mentorship of the next generation of academic medicine professionals.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cancer rehabilitation care within the Oncology Service Line with opportunities for innovative and emerging procedural interventions.
- Work collaboratively with the Cancer Center Care Team alongside providers and clinicians from other specialties including, but not limited to, oncology/hematology, urology, endocrinology, dermatology, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, imaging, pain, primary care, and physical therapy.
- Provide cross-coverage for inpatient services as needed, such as for vacations.
- Participate in on-call weekend and holiday coverage.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with referring providers and departments.
- Engage in the teaching and mentorship of trainees, including medical students, residents, fellows, visiting students, and other allied health professionals, fostering their clinical and professional development.
- Contribute to scholarly activities, including research and academic initiatives, in alignment with departmental goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited PM&R residency training program.
- Cancer Rehabilitation fellowship-trained, preferred, but not required.
- Board-certified or board-eligible with the American Board of PM&R (ABPM&R).
- Licensed or ability to obtain and/or maintain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
- Meet threshold criteria and qualifications for credentialing and privileging.
- Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills.
As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will thrive in a collaborative environment, support the growth of our academic programs, and play an active role in national and local organizations to enhance the field of PM&R. Academic rank and track will be determined based on your qualifications and interests. Faculty members mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and allied health professionals, including teaching, training, and general supervision in a clinical setting.

Pay And Benefits
Pay Range: This full-time (100%) faculty position is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians and includes two salary components. Total compensation is competitive, with a salary range of $273,00 to $300,000. Compensation is based on AAMC benchmarks based on academic rank and is proportionate to academic and clinical duties.
