Description
The Lean/Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading and managing continuous improvement initiatives across the MOBIS organization. This role involves identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance quality, operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improve overall productivity, while maintaining a safe environment for employees. The specialist will drive improvements using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement frameworks. The specialist will support quality and help minimize damage claims from dealers by enforcing Lean methodologies. This position will also ensure the proper application of Lean concepts to maintain inventory accuracy for parts inventory and company assets. Responsibilities also include monitoring and reporting on assigned maintenance elements of the operation such as preventative maintenance schedules and planned equipment repair. The specialist will communicate project and assignment results from each Parts Distribution Center to the appropriate Headquarters department.
Key Accountabilities
Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Ensure all safety rules and expectations are maintained. Drive KPI's and SWI. Ensure Standard Operating Procesudes (SOPs) are current and followed. Identify and prioritize opportunities for cost reduction of operational improvements. Work with HQ/Regional cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement process improvements. Facilitate workshops and training sessions on process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).Develop and Implement Strategies: Create, develop and deploy new and/or updated Safety and Lean processes and procedures with the guidance/assistance of the HQ and regional departments. Work closely with department leaders to align improvement strategies with business goals. Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of improvement initiatives. Implement standardized processes and practices that drive consistent results. Process Analysis:
Conduct detailed analyses of business processes, workflows, and systems. Use data and metrics to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand challenges and develop solutions. Monitor, report and address all assigned all maintenance activities, Ensure the proper utilization of materials as requested by the Department's Management in Headquarters. Project Management:
Manage and coordinate continuous improvement projects from inception to completion. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Regularly report on project progress and results to senior management. Ensure proper maintenance is performed, recorded, and reported as assigned within the PDC. Change Management:
Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technologies. Communicate effectively with teams to gain buy-in and support for continuous improvement initiatives. Training and Mentorship:
Train staff on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices. Act as a mentor to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Promote a mindset of problem-solving and innovation across the organization. Collaborate with Teams:
Work closely with various departments, including operations, quality, production, and supply chain, to drive improvement across all functions. Ensure alignment and engagement of all relevant stakeholders in improvement efforts. Report and Communicate Results:
Prepare and present reports on the effectiveness and outcomes of improvement initiatives to management. Use data-driven insights to make recommendations for further improvement. Key Performance Indicators
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for this position include timely updates on CIR lean project . Monthly reporting on assigned Lean elements such as Kaizen events, 5S and required training as well as weekly and monthly maintenance reporting. Each KPI is reviewed annually, and a new standard is established. Standards must be met and/or exceeded.
Coordinate with HQ and regional team to assist in the development and implementation of Lean Concepts including No MUDA, CEDAC, Kaizen events, Value streams, Gemba walk projects and key Lean tools as agreed to by Lean leadership. Resolve Lean or waste issues, coordinate corrective actions with the other PDC'S and the appropriate Headquarters and regional personnel. Provide necessary documentation, track and audit performance and PDC progress as well as cost benefit analysis. Establish and maintain routine PM schedules for keeping equipment well maintained in the PDC. Investigate maintenance failures and recommend appropriate changes in PDC methods. Work with vendors, regional team and Headquarters personnel to develop program improvements and cost efficiencies. All other duties as assigned by management. Work Schedule/Travel
8:00 am - 5:00 pm Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air. Required Qualifications

2-4 years of experience is preferred. Experiencein warehousing/distribution center environment is preferred. Basic background in warehousing, freight handling procedures, receiving,packaging requirements, and other inventory management skills. Certifications
Lean Certification is preferred. Skills
