Description
The Lead Strategic Planning Analyst is responsible for driving purchases for the Normal Planning and New Model department totaling between $40M-$70M per month. The team leader ensures MPA KPI's are achieved through careful analysis, planning and execution. This requires strong analytical skills, a sound understanding of forecast disaggregation across 9 PDCs, proper PO inventory control and supply management of MPA parts to support Hyundai, Genesis and Kia dealerships. The team lead will be responsible for maintaining, updating and revising purchase order strategies to best align with MPA KPI's. Team lead will have oversight for the process and execution scheduling of inbound material, assuring product delivery meets corporate goals and objectives. The team lead will ensure reporting and inbound volumes are optimized. Additionally, the team lead with support from their manager builds, establishes and drives the team to ensure that MPA achieves inventory health, months of supply and fill rates targets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for the strategic development and tactical execution of the MPA procurement plan 45% Maintain, develop and implement processes (or systems) improvements in order to meet the system fill rate, facing fill rate, inventory months of supply, and COGS objectives 15% Develop and implement process (or system) improvements to maximize organizational effectiveness for all inbound scheduling 15% Report purchasing results to MPA Executive Management on a monthly basis 10% Negotiate with Affiliate Company on inventory sales opportunities that will drive excess and obsolete material from MPA ledger 5% Lead the team in developing, analyzing, and maintaining the strategic, demand, and procurement plan using sales and supplier metrics in support of strategic business objective 5% Develop, review, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with Supply Team leadership on auditing adherence to SOP's 5% KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
• Manage parts supply inventory levels through order placement to support sales to dealers and minimize cost of premium freight to meet corporate fill rate and MOS objectives. • Provide direction to network control specialist to ensure consistent flow of material into the PDCs • Ensure accurate reporting of inbound KPIs to ensure effective communication of performance against objectives for internal customers, external customers, and executive management. • Provide analysts with order recommendations for parts with demand outliers ensuring unnecessary orders are minimized. • Provide analysts with repackage recommendations to ensure inventory levels optimized. • Create/Run queries in Data Warehouse (DW) based on requirements specified by management. • Periodically check Data Warehouse for data integrity, and work with systems to correct any issues. • Monitor orders and work closely with Supply department to avoid any unnecessary orders. Recommend changes for order management as required supporting customer needs and MPA purchase targets. • Study current forecasting and inventory management processes, and implement any necessary changes to improve accuracy and efficiency, with the goal of common, integrated processes to support OEs. • Coordinate with OEs and Systems department to address any system problems effecting the planning and expediting of parts. • Communicate with Management of MPA and OEs issues and resolutions to provide better customer service through process improvement. • Review and recommend changes to the Part Master to ensure that correct supply levels, supersession codes, and part control codes are maintained and accurate. • Review affiliate excess sales lists and make purchase recommendations based on forecasted demand. Provide affiliates with MPA excess inventory to decrease obsolete inventory across the network.

Five to Eight years of directly-related experience in inventory management Demonstrated ability to identify problems/issues, recommend appropriate solutions, and follow-up to ensure positive results is required Experience with inventory planning required Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills required Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel required Excellent verbal and written communication skills required Excellent organizational skills (Reports and Timelines) Thorough understanding of complex inventory management software Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Access or other SQL preferred Employment Type
