Position Summary
Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept
The Office of the President serves as the executive-level team for the university, comprising the President, Chief of Staff, Director of Events, and other key support staff. The team collaborates closely with University Communications, Government Relations, and the Office of General Counsel, all of whom are co-located on the same floor.
Position Summary
The Office of the President seeks a detail-oriented professional to provide comprehensive administrative support and event coordination services. This role serves as the front desk coordinator while managing critical presidential communications and providing support for high-level university events, including commencement. This position requires exceptional discretion in handling confidential information and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will foster collegial working relationships and promote a professional office environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Front Desk and Administrative Support
Serve as the first point of contact for the President's Office, assist communications and correspondence, support maintenance of databases and event materials, and provide general office support.
Event Coordination
Support the Director of Events with university event planning and execution and provide on-site assistance with occasional evening and weekend events.
Fiscal Operations
Assist with supply ordering, budget tracking, and financial reconciliations.
Additional duties as assigned, including occasional support to other university offices under the umbrella of the President's Office.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of customers and constituents using excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven experience with event coordination and/or support. This may include vendor management, invoice reconciliation, advertising or marketing, coordination of set up and take down, catering ordering, etc. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in a sensitive work environment, Knowledge of office procedures and equipment Preferred Qualifications
Project management experience Working knowledge of CRM systems PSU experience Key Cultural Competencies

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting salary for this position is $43,512.
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the first tier to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

This is a full-time, salaried position. While the typical work week is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, occasional evening and weekend work is required to support events.
This position will be required to work
on campus, in-person Monday through Friday . Employee and Supervisor will work together if flexibility for occasional special needs for remote work is needed.
