Position Summary
Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept
Portland State University (PSU), located on a 50-acre campus in downtown Portland, is a nationally acclaimed leader in sustainability and community-based learning. The University's position in the heart of Oregon's economic and cultural center enables PSU students and faculty to apply scholarly theory to the real-world problems of business and community organizations.
Portland State offers more than 220 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree options, as well as graduate certificates and continuing education programs. PSU is Oregon's largest and most diverse university, with some 30,000 students who come from all 50 states and from nearly 100 nations around the world.
Position Summary
The Director of the Regional Research Institute for Human Services (RRI) has responsibility for the direction and oversight of the RRI. The RRI Director ensures efficient and effective operations and infrastructure to facilitate successful proposals for external funding and successful completion of awarded projects.
The RRI Director is a 0.50 FTE administrative appointment reporting to the Dean of the School of Social Work. The RRI Director supervises the Operations and Fiscal Manager and the Principal Investigators of the RRI.
Minimum Qualifications
The RRI Director must have a Ph.D. in social work or a related field.
Although this position is unranked and unrepresented, the RRI Director must have the experience and qualifications and be eligible for a research professorial rank within the School of Social Work.
The RRI Director will be required to develop and maintain an active research portfolio including externally funded projects.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting annual salary rate for this position will be $140,000: because the Director appointment is .50 FTE, salary for Director duties is $70,000 annually. The preferred candidate's research portfolio may add FTE and pay to the position's total compensation through externally funded grants. Benefits in this position include 95% premium paid healthcare, retirement plan, and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
