Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will serve in an operational capacity, executing key HR functions that directly support the company's strategic objectives. This role will focus on delivering excellence in areas such as staffing, training and development, compensation, and benefits, while ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals. This role is essential in enhancing department functions through the planning, implementation, and development of training programs, onboarding, employee orientation, and managing HR initiatives.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for the administration of employee benefits, payroll processing, and annual audits, and will contribute to the development of HR strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, this position will support leadership through data-driven HR decisions, employee engagement initiatives, organizational development strategies, and answer employee questions regarding pay, benefits, policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and in compliance with state and federal regulations (including bonuses, deductions, timekeeping, and garnishments). Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes. Manage and maintain HRIS data and electronic files, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company structure. Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and/or events and participate on the Wellness Committee to help drive workplace culture. Actively engage with EHS to co-develop programs and initiatives. Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially; escalate complex issues as needed. Administer benefit programs and coordinate annual open enrollment. Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws. Collaborate with the Finance team on HR-related reporting, headcount tracking, and labor analysis. Support internal communication strategies. Track, manage, and order office supplies. Act as a key point of contact for HR policy questions and general employee inquiries. Assist in the development and delivery of HR training programs for employees and managers. Support performance management cycles and disciplinary documentation. Contribute to HR process improvements and assist with audits or special projects as assigned. Oversee updates and compliance of the Company Policy Handbook. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, including health and dental, 401k, PTO, FMLA, and general employee personnel issues. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field required. 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role, with direct responsibility for payroll processing (experience with systems like ADP, Paycom, or similar required). Strong knowledge of HR laws, payroll compliance, and HR best practices. Proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing both big-picture and detailed administrative tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; approachable and professional. HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Additional Information:
