Job Description:

At The Pond Guy, our Talent Acquisition team is not just hiring for one type of role-we do it all. From hands-on positions in manufacturing and fulfillment, to creative and technical roles in product development and marketing, to strategic roles in finance, purchasing, and customer service-every department has a unique story, and you'll help find the talent to tell it.

The right person for this role gets energized by solving hard-to-fill roles, building relationships, and uncovering hidden talent in unexpected places. Our Talent Acquisition Specialist asks the tough questions, analyzes market data, and challenges the status quo to drive better hiring decisions and results. From discovery meetings to offer letters, you're the engine behind the process, driving urgency, clarity, and momentum at every step.

Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.

Lead full-cycle recruitment across all departments, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation, as well as supporting onboarding Set the standard for candidate experience and hiring manager relationships, ensuring timely communication, quality outcomes, and process compliance Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs, create job descriptions, develop recruiting and interview strategies, and align talent efforts with business goals Conduct monthly review with hiring managers to share hiring metrics, pay band research, and market trends to inform strategic hiring decisions and support continuous improvement Represent the company at hiring events; enthusiastically attend networking opportunities to proactively attract top talent and build a strong talent pipeline Use out-of-the-box thinking to develop hiring avenues and communicate new ideas and existing programs effectively throughout the company to increase referrals Act as a confident negotiator, balancing candidate expectations with company objectives to secure strong, equitable hires Continuously improve recruitment practices, leveraging and analyzing data, feedback, and creative sourcing strategies to expand reach and enhance results while collaborating with the Marketing department to achieve goals Manage relationships with third-party recruiters, including sourcing, onboarding, coordination of candidate submissions, and invoice approvals Maintain applicant tracking systems (ATS), manage job postings, and ensure candidate assessments and communications are timely and effective Don't know about ponds?

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:

3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience across a variety of roles and departments (e.g., operations, marketing, customer service, finance, logistics, or product development) Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to push back thoughtfully and build trust with hiring managers and leadership Proven negotiation skills to confidently navigate offer terms with candidates and manage agreements, expectations, and submissions with third-party recruiting partners Data-driven approach to hiring-comfortable using metrics, research, and market trends to shape recruitment strategies Proven ability to build and manage a strong candidate pipeline using creative sourcing techniques beyond traditional job boards Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple open roles, priorities, and deadlines with accuracy and energy Resilient, self-motivated, and able to maintain enthusiasm and forward motion during slow hiring cycles or ambiguous situations Comfortable collaborating across departments and deeply curious about how different teams function within a business Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other hiring tools; tech-savvy and process-oriented This position requires manual dexterity for typing, sitting at a desk, and looking at a computer screen for long periods. In addition, portions of the training require the Talent Acquisition Specialist to shadow other departments that may require physical activity, including lifting 25-35 pounds and standing for long periods.

We need a Talent Acquisition Specialist with a positive attitude, for whom the words "can't" and "impossible" are not a part of their vocabulary. You're not waiting for requisitions; you're creating opportunities.

Availability

You must be available to work between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the occasional evening or Saturday for interviews or networking events that must be done outside of regular business hours.
