As Chief Estimator, you will lead the estimating department for a well-established general contractor, overseeing all preconstruction efforts and ensuring accurate, competitive, and strategic bids across a diverse portfolio of
commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial projects . This leadership role is pivotal in shaping the company's growth and profitability through disciplined cost analysis, process development, and team mentorship. Responsibilities Lead and manage the estimating team, including training and mentoring junior estimators Oversee the preparation of conceptual and detailed cost estimates for all project phases Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to ensure complete scope coverage Develop and maintain historical cost data and unit pricing databases Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction Analyze subcontractor bids and ensure competitive pricing and scope alignment Establish and refine estimating procedures, tools, and workflows Participate in bid strategy meetings and final proposal reviews Ensure quality and consistency in all estimate submissions Represent us in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client presentations Qualifications 10+ years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role Proven track record in commercial, institutional, and industrial construction Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, Timberline, or similar) Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and market pricing Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
