Specializing in ground-up commercial projects, the company is known for delivering high-quality work across various sectors and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and partners. About the Role: As the Lead Estimator, you will take ownership of the estimating department and play a strategic role in driving the company’s preconstruction efforts. You will manage the full bid process—from conceptual budgeting to final pricing—and provide leadership to junior estimators. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to step into a leadership role with a company that values collaboration, accuracy, and long-term success. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the estimating process for all ground-up commercial projects Prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates and bid proposals Oversee and mentor junior estimators and preconstruction staff Review construction documents, specifications, and scope of work for completeness and accuracy Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing; build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships Coordinate with project management, executives, and clients throughout preconstruction Present and defend estimates in internal reviews and client meetings Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions Stay current with market pricing, construction methods, and industry trends Requirements: Minimum 7 years of estimating experience in ground-up commercial construction Proven ability to manage complex bids and lead an estimating team Strong understanding of construction costs, scheduling, and market conditions Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage, Procore, or equivalent) Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred Seniority level
