Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector provides technical support by reviewing, inspecting, and conducting nondestructive testing to ensure that structures, systems, equipment, and components meet specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements. This role involves identifying quality issues, recommending solutions, and maintaining quality records to support operational and engineering personnel.
Key Responsibilities Perform and/or coordinate nondestructive testing (NDT) activities to verify product integrity and compliance. Inspect parts, assemblies, and subassemblies against drawings and specifications. Identify and document quality problems; initiate non-conformance reports for any deviations from specifications. Ensure manufactured units meet quality control procedures, engineering standards, and customer requirements. Initiate corrective action requests for repetitive quality issues. Gather and analyze data on equipment and system conditions. Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation. Conduct specialized testing as required, including dimensional testing and other manufacturing-related inspections. Collaborate and build relationships with technical counterparts, trade allies, and customers. Travel to various facilities as needed to perform inspections and testing.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of inspection/testing experience in the power industry or related field. Knowledge of nondestructive testing methods and dimensional testing. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product specifications. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints. Proven experience with quality documentation and corrective action procedures.
Preferred Qualifications Additional training or certifications related to nondestructive testing or quality control are a plus.
Certifications None required, but NDT certifications preferred.
