Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the overall condition of the manufacturing facility, including both the building infrastructure and the production machinery. This role involves performing a wide range of maintenance activities to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance, and complete repairs in a timely manner. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Machine Maintenance:

Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery, including but not limited to: inspecting, lubricating, cleaning, and adjusting. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions in production equipment. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or wiring in a timely manner to minimize downtime. Perform equipment changeovers and setups as needed for production schedule changes. Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics to understand equipment operation and maintenance requirements. Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.

Building Maintenance:

Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds to identify maintenance needs. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including but not limited to: HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) Plumbing systems (pipes, fixtures) Electrical systems (wiring, lighting, outlets) Structural elements (walls, floors, roofs) Perform general repairs and upkeep of the facility, including painting, carpentry, and minor construction. Maintain and repair facility equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Ensure that the building and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Basic computer skills. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a relevant vocational or technical training program in industrial maintenance, machining, or a related field is highly desirable. Minimum of 2-5 years of proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and procedures. Experience working with and maintaining various types of manufacturing equipment (e.g., CNC machines, punch press machines, packaging equipment, pumps, motors). Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in an industrial setting. Physical Demands

Ability to lift to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work in noisy and non-climate controlled environments.
