About the Role: The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and executing timely repairs to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Technician collaborates closely with production teams to identify potential equipment failures and implement preventive maintenance strategies. By maintaining a safe and organized work environment, this role supports overall plant productivity and quality standards. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to the reliability and longevity of manufacturing assets, directly impacting operational success. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation equipment. Forklift operation certification. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Responsibilities: Utilize maintenance and reliability practices with some guidance to ensure all assets are maintained in safe condition while continuing to ensure the life of the equipment being used. Complete preventative, predictive and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility, with limited direction. Leverage knowledge and ability to operate 1 or 2 standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools and preventative maintenance technology tools. Demonstrate experience in 1 or 2 maintenance trades and components (ex. electrical, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance and hydraulic and pneumatic systems). Modify with some direction or instruction in either electrical or mechanical schematics, blueprints and operation manuals. Document completed work and the conditions found utilizing maintenance computer software and interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations. Operate forklifts and scissor lifts following standard production documentation to deliver to the correct location. Skills: The Maintenance Technician utilizes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills daily to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production. Proficiency in reading technical documents and schematics enables accurate diagnosis and repair of complex machinery. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and implement solutions. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems helps in tracking work orders and scheduling preventive maintenance efficiently. Additionally, a strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols ensures a secure working environment for all personnel.
