Job Summary

The Director of Development is responsible for leading and executing strategies to secure major gifts of $10,000 and above, while cultivating and expanding corporate and foundation partnerships. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer, the Director Development will play a key role in advancing the organization's mission through strategic fundraising initiatives. This is a part-time position (25 hours/week), ideal for a results-driven development professional seeking a flexible work schedule.

Essential Job Functions

• Develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy targeting individuals, corporations & foundations capable of giving $10,000+. • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major donors, corporate partners, and foundations. • Research and identify new corporate and foundation prospects aligned with the organization's mission. • Plan and support donor engagement and cultivation events. • Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking in the CRM system. • Collaborate with leadership to set fundraising goals and assess progress. • Provide regular reports and updates on development activities and outcomes. • Represent the organization at meetings and events, building goodwill with community stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or a related field required. • Master's degree preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on major gifts and institutional giving. • Proven track record of securing individual gifts of $10,000 or more. • Experience cultivating and managing corporate and foundation relationships. • Demonstrated success in donor stewardship and relationship management. • Experience writing grant proposals and donor communications.

Licenses/Certifications

• CFRE or fundraising-related certification preferred

Abilities Required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Familiarity with donor management software/CRM systems (e.g., Boomerang). • Strong analytical and organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. • High degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information. • Comfort and confidence engaging with high-net-worth individuals and organizational leaders.
