Position Overview
As a Pest Control Technician, you will play a crucial role in protecting residential and commercial properties from pests, ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of our customers. This role requires knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, compliance with California pest control regulations, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
Drive to various locations across different cities and counties to perform pest control services for residential and possibly commercial properties.
Conduct inspections of properties to identify pest infestations and entry points.
Implement effective pest control solutions, including treatments, traps, and exclusion methods, in alignment with IPM standards.
Apply chemical and non-chemical pest control measures safely and in compliance with California laws and label instructions.
Be available on-call to assist with additional service requests or urgent issues if the assigned route is completed in less than 8 hours.
Use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and specialized pest control equipment (e.g., sprayers, bait stations, vacuums, drills) safely and effectively.
Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance
Ensure the company vehicle is kept clean, well-maintained, and safe for daily use.
Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain pest control equipment to ensure it is functional and safe.
Report any mechanical or equipment issues promptly to supervisors.
Customer Relations
Communicate treatment plans, findings, and recommendations to customers clearly and professionally.
Provide education on prevention methods and answer customer questions regarding services and safety.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all state and federal regulations, including those outlined by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR).
Maintain proper use and storage of pesticides, tools, and equipment.
Adhere to safety protocols to protect yourself, clients, and the environment.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete detailed service reports, including product usage, inspection findings, services performed and recommendations
Maintain accurate records as required by California law.
Team Collaboration
Work with other team members and supervisors to ensure seamless service delivery.
Attend training and certification sessions to stay updated on industry best practices.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Possession of a Branch 2 Field Rep License clear of any citations
Will accept a Branch 2 Applicator with the condition of getting FR license in first 90 days
Experience:
Prior experience in pest control, current Field Rep (preferred).
Knowledge of IPM principles and pest prevention techniques (preferred).
Rodent service experience a must
Previous sales experience a plus
Exclusion experience a plus
Skills:
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong sales & excellent customer service skills
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment commonly used in pest control.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while running route based services
Ability to create diagrams and graphs that effectively document pest locations and treatment needs.
Physical & Travel Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in various environments, including tight spaces such as attics and crawl spaces / sub areas.
Willingness & ability to drive, walk, sit, stand, bend, crawl, lift, and carry for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
Comfortable driving daily to multiple locations across different cities and counties.
