NESN
Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, the Art Director is a hands-on creative leadership role responsible for defining and executing the visual style and identities of NESN and SportsNet Pittsburgh across broadcast, digital and off-air platforms. This person will lead a team of motion designers while actively contributing to both concepting and execution, while also managing design workflows, resource allocation and timelines. This includes overseeing design systems and processes, and ensuring brand consistency of all insert packages, network graphics and marketing assets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Creative Leadership & Design Direction
Provide leadership on design direction, resourcing, and execution throughout the process. Lead, manage, and develop the Design Team by overseeing performance, delegating responsibilities, and inspiring high-quality creative work across all media. Foster growth by identifying individual strengths and opportunities for personal and process development. Collaborate with the Director of Creative Services to align priorities and ensure partner expectations are consistently and effectively met. Project Management & Execution
Oversee the full lifecycle of creative design projects, including managing team assignments, timelines, resource planning, and stakeholder communication to ensure timely, on-brand delivery. Collaborate with partners across the organization to anticipate design needs, define project goals, and deliver creative solutions that are strategically aligned, visually impactful, and on-brand. Hands-On Creative Contribution
Contribute hands-on to the creation and implementation of dynamic design and animation solutions, from concept through completion, across all platforms. Effectively utilize current software packages and technologies - e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D - to execute design and animation solutions. Proactively stay current on emerging design trends, tools, and technologies, and mentor the Design Team in adopting new techniques and best practices. Culture & Organizational Values

Qualifications:
7+ years experience conceptualizing and designing motion graphics for advertising, cable/broadcast TV or creative studio 2+ years of experience in a leadership role including staff and project management responsibilities Knowledge of sports media landscape preferred Proven ability to lead and motivate creative teams with strong leadership, team management, communication and interpersonal skills. Expertise in 2D and 3D motion design, typography, branding, and advanced level conceptual art, including expertise in relevant software packages and technologies (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D). Experience leveraging project management software (e.g., Workfront, Monday, etc.) to manage creative workflows, assign resources, track deadlines, and ensure on-time delivery of design and animation projects. Reel or link showcasing exceptional creative ability and technical expertise. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
