Description

SUMMARY

This position is an experienced technical professional with advanced ability to install, program, maintain and repair industrial security equipment and associated cabling & infrastructure while ensuring work is in accordance with relevant codes, customer requirements, and internal company standards. The Level 3 Technician is expected to be able to perform the functions of the position without supervision and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the execution of their duties.

In addition to possessing advanced technical abilities, the Level 3 Technician must also be capable of performing as The Lead Technician on a project site, which includes performing direct support and coordination with customers, project managers, project engineers, and superintendents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

The Level 3 Technician's management responsibilities include:

• Accountable for the site safety, quality, schedule, and cost on assigned projects.

• Responsible for assuring availability of resources with proper expertise and tools to support assigned integrated security project execution.

• Serves as main point of contact between Project Manager and crew members.

• Responsible for overseeing crew members.

• Reports project status and performance data as required to management.

• Mentors and Trains junior technicians and team members.

• Ensures Quality Management practices, customer and internal standards are enforced.

• Position requires technician to participate in an on-call rotation schedule. Technician would be available to answer client calls after normal working hours and on weekend/holidays depending. on the rotation order.

The Level 3 Technician's technical responsibilities include:

• Install, configure, and maintain electronic security systems for clients with minimal supervision.

• Test and troubleshoot systems to ensure they are operating effectively and generate work order reports and associated documentation.

• Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades on security systems.

• Provide training and technical support to clients.

• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each job.

• Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

• Train and supervise junior technicians.

Examples of work to be performed:

• Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, doors, door frames and other areas as required.

• Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures have been met.

• Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, CCTV, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

• Mount and fasten control panels, door contacts, sensors, electrical locks, card readers and video cameras, and attach low voltage wiring to connect components.

• Mount raceways and conduits, and fasten wires to metal & concrete framing, using a variety of techniques.

• Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.

• Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.

• Keep informed of new products and industrial developments.

• Request orders for replacement parts. Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

• Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, and basic network related problems encountered by end-users of the network.

• Possess a basic understanding of IPV4 and newer, and how to assig an IP address.

• Interface with customers and present a professional and competent appearance on the worksite.

• Maintain company property including specialized tools & equipment, vehicles, and machinery.

• Lead teams onsite and provide training and mentoring for junior technicians.
