Summary:
The Technical Supervisor for eDiscovery and Practice Support plays a key role in the delivery and maintenance of essential technical services and resources. This position involves assisting the Client Service Manager and Director with activities related to technology, particularly those that involve client and attorney interactions. The supervisor is also responsible for the coordination and execution of client data collection and forensic activities. The role includes collaboration with management on team planning and data management initiatives, as well as the evaluation and implementation of new software and technology platforms. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience At least 8 years of experience in legal technology A minimum of 2 years of data collection and forensics experience Proficient with Windows & Microsoft Office, Trial Director, Relativity, and similar eDiscovery platforms Exceptional documentation skills to produce clear and accurate records Strong technical proficiency in Firm-supported software, including FileSite, Adobe, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Excellent client service capabilities Preferred Education & Experience: Prior experience in a law firm setting Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification preferred Advanced data analytics skills are a plus Forensics certification is preferred Essential Functions: Deliver top-notch customer service to Firm attorneys and personnel. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Oversee and execute forensic data collections and associated projects. Act as the initial point of contact for escalations related to eDiscovery technology, forensics, and collections. Ensure the provision and upkeep of technical services and resources, including Relativity. Support management in technology-related activities with clients and attorneys. Coordinate with technology service providers to address issues. Manage litigation support and e-discovery projects alongside legal teams and stakeholders as necessary. Guide legal teams on litigation support and e-discovery best practices. Utilize industry-standard tools like Relativity for data management. Advise on effective data collection techniques. Maintain limited responsibilities for consultancy projects if needed. General and Administrative: Lead internal team projects efficiently. Update and manage project management applications as required. Manage vendors and keep legal teams informed about technological advancements. Engage in ongoing assessments for process improvements. Collaborate with management on team planning and initiatives. Coordinate data management activities. Perform additional duties as assigned. Competencies: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized, self-motivated with attention to detail. Professional demeanor with a focus on customer satisfaction, meeting deadlines, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Independent thinking with strong problem-solving abilities. A collaborative team player who fosters motivation and learning among teammates. Regular and predictable attendance is essential. Ability to effectively manage direct reports, including performance evaluations and professional development. Travel: Travel as necessary.
