The CFAC is a vital organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by abuse, neglect, and domestic violence. We provide essential services, including advocacy, counseling, and residential programs, with a commitment to fostering healing and empowerment. Our team is our greatest asset, and we are looking for a dedicated Human Resource Specialist to support and enhance our organizational culture.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Human Resource Specialist to manage various HR functions and support our mission through effective human resource management. In this role, you will handle recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance, ensuring that our team operates smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
could include:
Recruitment & Onboarding : Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and hiring. Coordinate the onboarding process to ensure a smooth integration for new hires.
Employee Relations : Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, provide support and guidance on HR policies and procedures, and mediate conflicts as needed. Foster a positive work environment and support staff engagement initiatives.
Benefits Administration : Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Assist employees with benefits-related questions and manage enrollment and claims processes.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
Training & Development : Support employee development by coordinating training programs and professional development opportunities. Assist in the creation of training materials and resources.
Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and performance data. Ensure compliance with record-keeping regulations and standards.
HR Projects : Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, such as policy development, employee wellness programs, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Proven experience in human resources, with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, preferably in a nonprofit or advocacy setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and handle sensitive issues with professionalism.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of employment laws, benefits administration, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
