Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Administration Job Summary The HR Generalist is responsible for managing and executing payroll processes, supporting HR operations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies. This role bridges payroll and HR functions, ensuring accurate compensation, smooth onboarding/offboarding, and effective employee support. Additionally, the role includes HR Generalist responsibilities such as employee relations, performance management, recruitment support, and training coordination. Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Administration - Collect, calculate, and enter payroll data including hours worked, deductions, and benefits. - Process biweekly/monthly payroll and ensure timely and accurate payments. - Prepare payroll reports for management and finance teams. - Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries. - Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. HR Support - Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including scheduling orientations and collecting documentation. - Maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems. - Coordinate benefit enrollments and related communications. - Support compliance efforts, including audits, labor law postings, and policy documentation. Scheduling & Coordination - Meet new hires to review pay periods, benefits, and required documentation. - Coordinate with departments (IT, Marketing, Legal, etc.) for onboarding logistics. Employee Communications - Send welcome emails and new hire packets with clear instructions on documentation and confidentiality. - Answer routine HR questions and direct employees to appropriate contacts for complex issues. HR Generalist Responsibilities - Administer employee relations programs and guide HR policies and procedures. - Support performance management processes including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback. - Assist in developing and implementing HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals. - Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and engagement. - Participate in recruitment efforts, including job postings, screening, and interviewing candidates. - Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices. Qualifications - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. - 2+ years of experience in payroll or HR coordination preferred. - Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and HR compliance standards. Preferred Skills - Experience with onboarding processes and benefits administration. - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. - Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish) - Familiarity with multi-state payroll and garnishment processing. - Construction industry experience is a plus. - Union experience is a plus.
